The Collection landing template lets customers explore and shop all or selected collections and their products on a single page. It's a great way to give a high-level overview of your collections or feature multiple collections that pair well together.
This guide explains how to set up the collections landing template using theme sections, with recommendations to get you started.
Quick setup
You can customize the Collection landing template in the theme editor. All other product template features can be set up by following our collections template guide.
When your template is ready, you can assign the template in the Shopify admin to make it live.

Edit collection landing template
The Collections landing template includes preset sections designed to showcase your collection.
We recommend first editing the preset sections and hiding any sections you won't use. Then, you can add other theme sections to further customize your page.
STEPS
In your theme editor (Customize):
Use the Templates selector to open Collections > collection-landing.
Under "PREVIEW", click Change and select the page you want to use for the collection landing template.
A warning symbol (!) next to the page name means that the template is not assigned. Click the page name to go to your Shopify admin, and assign the template.
Edit preset theme sections to add custom page content and styles.
Use the Image hero to add a collection image and promo text.
Use the Multi-column to link to your collection pages.
Add Rich text to describe your collections or products.
Use the Image with text sections and second Image hero to highlight key features of your product collections.
Set up the Product grid to list products from your collection with filter options.
Click the Hide icon or Remove section button to hide or delete preset sections.
Under Template, click (+) Add section to further customize your page with theme sections.
Click and hold the drag and drop handles ⋮⋮ to change the order of sections.
Click Save.
Remember to assign the template and set your page to Visible in your admin.
(Recommended.) Add a link to your collection landing in the Header navigation or in a theme section featured on your home page.
Assign collection landing template
In your Shopify admin, you need to assign the landing template to publish your changes to your live store. Follow the steps when you're done customizing the template.
STEPS
In your Shopify admin:
Go to Products > Collections.
Click to open the collection that you want to use the landing template.
Click the Theme template menu and select landing to assign the template to your page.
Note: Templates can't be assigned on unpublished themes. Your changes to templates will be saved and can be assigned when you buy and publish the theme.
